The Electronic Behavioral Health Information Network (eBHIN) is a 501(c)3 private non-profit corporation that serves as a Regional Health Information Organization (RHIO) for providers of behavioral health services in Southeast and Western Nebraska. eBHIN is a leader in the industry of the development of a health information exchange (HIE) for behavioral health providers. The HIE provides many opportunities for network members to improve behavioral health care and decrease costs. Behavioral health practitioners are able to treat consumers without having to wait for the exchange of records or paperwork from other providers, and without requiring unnecessary or repetitive tests or procedures.

Confidential information is transferred seamlessly between providers across a secure network and is complete, accurate, and searchable at the point of discharge and care. Critical information needed to make informed clinical decisions is immediately available improving treatment and preventing medical errors. By facilitating the flow of critical clinical information, improved workflow efficiency and consumer monitoring is achievable. In addition to improving consumer outcomes, the overall cost of care is reduced due to increased administrative efficiencies and decreased paperwork for clinicians.
